The Jackson County Arts Council will be celebrating the artists who have had work featured in the Rotunda Gallery. Words on Works will also be a celebration of the art council’s 40th anniversary in Jackson County. A selection of work from these artists will hang in the gallery during March and April. Writers in the community are encouraged to visit the gallery and write a poem or short piece about the work. The piece can be about a singular work or the the entire gallery. It could also be about what art means to this community.
To kick things off, the Jackson County Arts Council will sponsor a poetry writing workshop with poet Brent Martin on Saturday March 5th from 1 p.m. until 3:30 p.m. in the Community Room of the Jackson County Public Library. The workshop is free and open to the public.
The celebration will culminate on Tuesday, April 26th at 6:30 p.m. during the Jackson County Arts Council’s membership meeting. There will be a public reading for anyone who has a Words on Work piece to share. For more information contact the Jackson County Arts Council at 828-507-9820 or email@example.com.
