Six Western North Carolina artists receive funding to support their artistic endeavors.  Time in a high end recording studio for musicians, marketing materials for a performing arts group, and new equipment and materials for artists’ studios are among some of the funded projects this year.  Regional Artist Project grants support professional artists at any stage in their careers to pursue projects that further their artistic development. “Cashiers Valley” a Liars Bench Production this Friday

Friday March 15, 2013 at 7:00 p.m. at the Mountain Heritage Center at WCU.  “Cashiers Valley” is the true story of the man who fell off Whiteside Mountain!  This event is sponsored by a Grassroots Grant from the Jackson County Arts Council.  Liars Bench will produce a series of three programs:  “The Balsam Chronicles” which will depict the history and folklore of this region through music, story and dance.
