Six Western North Carolina artists receive funding to support their artistic endeavors. Time in a high end recording studio for musicians, marketing materials for a performing arts group, and new equipment and materials for artists’ studios are among some of the funded projects this year. Friday March 15, 2013 at 7:00 p.m. at the Mountain Heritage Center at WCU. “Cashiers Valley” is the true story of the man who fell off Whiteside Mountain! This event is sponsored by a Grassroots Grant from the Jackson County Arts Council. Liars Bench will produce a series of three programs: “The Balsam Chronicles” which will depict the history and folklore of this region through music, story and dance.
